Traversando la Maremma

 Dolce paese, onde portai conforme

Visit the Maremma means living, and discover the beauty of nature and art; means knowing people, hospitable and proud. The thousand-year history has given to this earth a great architectural heritage, archaeological and that food and wine to be appreciated, it must be observed closely by the major centres to smaller ones, to the coast, the countryside, the woods. The nature surprising for the beauty and variety, from mountainous areas of Cornate and Poggio of Montieri, the typical Tuscan hills, plains, beaches and crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Follonica. In the northern part of the Maremma is the area DOC Monteregio which includes the territories of : Follonica, Gavorrano, Massa Marittima, Monterotondo Marittimo, Montieri, Scarlino, Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada. The coast has always been, with the city of Follonica, devoted to tourism, with its beaches and the clean and safe sea, but now tourists are starting to appreciate even the small towns in the hinterland, there are Nature Reserves, Parks and Zones restocking fauna, not to mention the food and specialty Maremma, the area has always been dedicated to the cultivation of the wineyards and of that, and then wine and oliveoil are the protagonists of "eating well" in this, uncontaminated, handkerchief of Tuscany.
